To work or not to work…

So the past couple of weeks the main thing that has been on my mind is returning to work or staying home.  A very, hard decision. Josh told me that he would be supportive either way.

I can honestly say that I enjoy my job, of course there are days that I would rather be at the mall than at my desk dealing with issues, but who wouldnt.    I talked to several friends and none of them had been in the same boat that I was, most of them had became parents first and then started their careers.   I LOVE being a mom, I can honestly say that he is the highlight of my life and the very best thing besides Josh of course, to happen to me.....but I have been working for the past 15 years.

So I told Josh that I was going to at least try to go back to work.   My sister-in-law, Carrie had agreed to babysitt at my house on Thursdays & Fridays but I needed to find someone for the two half days that I was going to work the split shift....so I asked around and got some referrals and met with one of the babysitters yesterday.....as I am sitting on the couch interviewing this person,  she was so sweet, she answered all my questions and was you could tell a great person, but she was still a stranger. I have a hard enough time leaving him with my mom, must less a stranger. I actually started crying ( I think its the hormones :-) ) I have waited a long time to be a mom so needless the thought of leaving my little one with someone I didnt know wasnt going to be easy, so I came home and emailed my work and asked if it would be possible to just work two evening and two days that way I wouldnt have to leave him with anyone I didnt really know.... and then I had to wait....

I am very  happy to say that work agreed to this....so now I get to the best of both worlds. Gideon will be with Aunt Carrie and Chloe on Thursdays and Fridays and with Daddy on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. And I will still be a full time mom.

I am one very happy, blessed Mom.

Aunt T & Weekend Trip

We headed up North this past weekend to see my sister and as you can see Gideon likes his Aunt T. It is a good thing that we do not live close to her, because I would have one spoiled little guy on my hands. We had such a nice weekend, relaxing and hanging out. Uncle Josh is very loved after bringing the Wii, playing baseball, and riding 4 wheelers all weekend with the kids.

Here are some of the weekend pictures.... more will be added later.

Josh is husband of the year too, on the way home we spent the day at the outlets and had dinner at St.Elmo's Steakhouse http://www.stelmos.com/ which is now my new favorite steakhouse.

One small step for Gideon, One GIANT step for Mommy!

Well I am happy to say that the I took a huge step this month and left Gideon overnight with his grandparents when our friends, Peter and Logan got married. Josh and I thought this would be fun for us to enjoy a day being together with our friends. I am happy to say that I only called 3 times to check on him and to see if he was doing ok and my mom's remark was he hasn't cried a bit, but then again Grandpa has been holding him the whole night. :-) Gideon is very blessed to have such awesome grandparents.

A month old…4th of July Weekend..Favorite Pictures

Well our little one is now a month old and has started smiling for us. Here is a picture we took last night. I have to admit he is so adorable. He has been developing his own little personality more and more everyday. He loves being held and is quite the little cuddler, which I love. He had his first month check up and has gained almost a pound and has grown two inches.

We had some friends & family over for the 4th, Gideon really enjoyed it, he was held the whole day.

We went shopping with Grandma & Papa Diekmann on Thursday to the Coach Outlet which was so much fun. He was so good on the whole trip, although I think it was due to the fact that Papa talked to him most of the trip and held him everytime we stopped.

Since the guys had their game time this weekend, the wives decided to come over to our house, which was so much fun. Thanks to Chris and Amanda I think I gained all the weight I have lost so far, but we lost the pictures of the sweets that we enjoyed. Yummy anyway!!
