Bowling with Uncle Terry

On Saturday Josh & Terry thought it would be fun to introduce G to bowling, I was happy to agree since this meant I got to sleep in. Here is a cute picture Josh emailed me, I am happy to say he made a strike the second time.

Bottle Dilema

So this was the week I was determined to take the bottle away from G. We had originally planned on doing it the first of the year and the pediatrician advised not too since G was sick and wasn't really eating that much. I am also 7 weeks pregnant so the morning sickness has hit me hard so my patience isn't 100 percent so this is how the week started off.

Monday - G woke up and of course wanted his "bob bob", I being the strong momma I am said bb is gone, he walked away crying, this of course broke my heart and then he walked back and said pease....ok J and I have been working the past couple of weeks on getting him to say please when he wants something. So here he stands in front of me with big, blue eyes saying pease momma, pease.

Momma caved.

Tuesday - Same thing, but I am feeling worse than Monday laying on the couch and he walks up and there is a repeat of what happened Monday. I stand firm, "pease" is not going to break me today. G realizing that its not working decided to take it to another level. He walks over grabs his toodle stool, brings it to the couch, stands on it and leans over and says "pease" and then kisses me.

Momma caved.

Tuesday - after nap.

I am determined, No hugs, kisses, or pease is going to work on me now. I am ready, I feel better and am determined. He tries all three things to no avail. I was rather proud of myself, I was strong! I was the mom in charge.

WRONG

As I was patting myself on the back, I knew he was in the kitchen, but I assumed he was playing in the tupperware drawer. I was wrong. He had opened the dishwasher, gathered all the pieces to his bottles and proceeded to put them together and was trying to get into our refrigerator. He had decided to take matters into his own hands and get it himself. The impressive part of this is that we use Dr. Brown bottles, and there are 5 parts to these. How he managed to find all 5 pieces in the dishwasher and put them together is beyond me.

Momma caved.

Tomorrow is a new day...right???

Here I grow again....

We are thrilled to say that we are expecting again. Baby 2's estimated arrival is mid-September. We have known for about 3 weeks, but wanted to wait to tell everyone until we went to the doctors and had blood work done. I had blood work done last Monday and Saturday and it according to the doctor it looks great. I am so happy, I wasn't sure if I was ready to have another one yet, but after miscarrying in early December I have been totally ready. Josh is thrilled of course to say the least. Gideon doesn't understand yet, but I am sure will once the little person arrives. The morning sickness has set in and of course no one has lemon drops. Josh went on a hunt last weekend for them and could only come up with lemon balls, not quite the same .... keep us in your thoughts and prayers, our wish is for a happy, healthy baby - boy or girl.

What a difference a year makes....

It amazes me how fast the time has flown, Gideon has been a part of our lives now for 18 months and sometimes I just want to stop the clock. He is growing too fast for me, luckily he is such a cuddler and will still just let me sit and hold him. I know that you can have a million kids and all of them are special, but I can say without a single doubt that I am proud to be Gideon's mommy. I thank God everyday for my precious little boy.

Look how fast he has grown...

Friends in Haiti

Sometimes a disaster happen and we don't know people that have been affective, but sometimes we do... Alicia was one of my best friends while in bible college and even though we haven't stayed in touch, my heart is hurting today for her and her family. They are over several orphanages in Haiti and last I heard from them they have over 49 kids in their care!!Just received the following text

Pray for the lloyds, there has been some more communication with them, and the situation is unimaginable. There is no access to banks, stores, food, fuel, water, there is nothing left. They do not have drinking water they are boiling water for now. No where to purchase any supplies if they had money, no where to get money. Please, pray for provision of their physical needs.

Love You..

So G has started saying two or more words at a time for the past couple of weeks, but today he said something that every momma loves to hear....Love You. It is a daily habit to say it to him several times a day and today he said it back, I of course kept saying it so he would keep saying it.... once again he melted my heart.

Traveling...

So the year has just begun and I am already starting to feel overwhelmed. I love to travel, but traveling with a toddler is a different game. We have two out of town weddings, family renunion, Guys Only Trip, Girls overnight trip and sometime in there J & I where wanting to have a small "family" vacation....don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to going to Cali for my brother-in-law's wedding and being able to spend some time with my college roommate, whom I havent seen in FOREVER, did I say FOREVER...I really do wish we could travel at the speed of light.
